UV400 means the lens blocks 100% of ultraviolet radiation — both UVA and UVB rays — up to 400 nanometres. Cairo averages over 3,000 hours of sunshine per year. Unprotected eyes absorb that UV constantly. Over time, that causes real damage — cataracts, macular degeneration, photokeratitis. UV400 lenses stop all of it. Not most of it. All of it.
Why polarized matters
Glare happens when sunlight bounces off flat surfaces — roads, water, glass, car hoods. Regular tinted lenses just dim the light. Polarized lenses contain a filter that blocks horizontally reflected light specifically — the kind that causes glare. The result is dramatically clearer vision, especially while driving.
